In July 2014, our family made a quick trip to Colorado. We flew into Albuquerque NM. Since we landed late, we spent the first night in Taos, NM at Wyndham Taos. We took the scenic route from there to Pagosa Springs, stopping at the gorge in the Rio Grande River and going over the mountain pass and by the Wolf Creek Ski Resort. Some of the activities we did during our short stay were as follows. We visited the Springs Resort hot springs, went river rafting in Durango, went horseback riding and tubing in the San Juan River in Pagosa Springs. We had both units in a two bedroom lockout, which was plenty spacious for two families. We had an early morning flight out of Albequerque, so I had to drive through the night. It was unfortunate that we were not able to see the scenery during the night, which is supposed to be fabulous.

Lake of Ozarks Missouri in August 2014
In late August of 2014 just before Labor Day, we went to Lake of the Ozarks for several days. Wyndham has some units in this World Mark Resort. This is probably the most popular resort area (at least equal to Branson) in Missouri. Lake of the Ozarks is dammed up river. The lake was very busy during this last week of the summer. We visited the dam, went to the Ha Ha Tonka State Park and visited the castle ruins and saw the natural bridge. Our unit was a two bedroom on the third floor. The view over the lake was great. Two families fit very comfortably in the unit. We just missed the 100 degree temperatures earlier in the week. It was very bearable during our stay. It was fun to swim in the pool at the resort several times. On the last day, we swam at a public beach in the area. We parted ways with my wife's brother and his family at the beach, who had come to visit us from St. Louis.

Wyndham La Cascada in San Antonio
Our visit to San Antonio, Texas in October 2014 was great. We stayed at the Wyndham La Cascada, which was right on the River Walk. Our family (and some friends for one of the days) spent time basically on the River Walk, visiting the Alamo and shops along the way.
Wyndham La Cascada was a very nice resort. The first two nights we were in a two bedroom unit (just fine for our family) but moved into a four bedroom presidential suite for the last night. We invited two families to come and join us in the large suite. It was really fun.
